Context
Love is not a social justice strategy, is it THE strategy. It is how we keep skilled and dedicated practitioners in the movement instead of fleeing burnout; how we imagine and call for better and more community informed public policy; how we maintain respect from and right relationship with the communities in which we live and serve.
What
We dare to offer radical, strategic love to our movement through our core values (family values) of Faith, Healing, and Justice by creating healing centers in marginalized communities, wherein our programs are operationalized in the blueprint of home-spaces.
Why
Structured injustice spiritually, physically, personally, interpersonally, and institutionally denies us health and wellness; yet we too often engage in social justice with a goal of undoing the harm of empire, while incidentally using the same principles of empire in our work. We need to unlearn the ways of structured injustice so that we can be healthier in our spirits, bodies, relationships, families, communities, and movement life while we envision, enact and embody a new world.
We are starting at home. We are building home spaces where we can commune, heal, explore our faith traditions, and let the wisdom of our communities guide our journey towards justice. Before we go out into the world, we are bringing healing home.
